FearlessCMS is becoming FearlessGen Static Site Generator
I've been thinking about how much of a maintenance burden it is to maintain a content management system. Yes, you can have the functionality. But when dealing with live sites using PHP, you have to think about security risks.
Then you have the PHP2Shell issue with PHP itself that was just leaked, and it has been patched in the latest version of PHP.
On top of that, I'm the only one really working on FearlessCMS. Yes, a couple of people have contributed code here and there, but for the most part, it's been me. And maintaining a CMS used on live websites is quite a lot for one person.
So I've decided to pivot. I will be ending the FearlessCMS project, but will be re-using the code that has already been written for FearlessCMS in a new project called FearlessGen. This will be a static site generator. I will utilize FrankenPHP to make it a stand-alone app. It will be really nice because it will utilize the admin dashboard that was created for FearlessCMS as a GUI interface for static site generation. We won't have to worry about logging in on the live site or anyone hacking that system, because it will all be ran locally. You just export it to static HTML and then publish to your host.
I will soon archive the FearlessCMS repo. If anyone wants to fork FearlessCMS, they are absolutely free to do so.
Thank you so much for your support, and soon will begin a new era with FearlessGen.
